So I finally got the chance to enjoy my regular Saturdays, which is, having good foods for lunch and just relax with my family...yayy!! We went to Duck King, and I had my favorite dimsum... yum yum...:)

It's been a while since I went to the malls, and how surprised I was to see that the mega sales are everywhere they got me going gaga hehehe... it's good that I have some plans for August which requires me to save money so at least I'm under some control hehehe....

But, I did buy myself something.... something awwweeeesssooooommmeee hehheheh....J.Lo platform shoes on a 50% discount...woohooo!!! :D

(I think I'm loving my floral sheer dress a wee bit too much so please don't get bored ;p)



About the shoes, the heels are extremely high but surprisingly very comfortable...:)

The shoes are actually dark purple in real...the first pic was over bright due to the camera flash...

Alone But Not Alone

Being alone physically has never been easy for me. It becomes a necessity, that at least I have someone to meet everyday, and have a name to call every night either to just say hi, to have a nice long chat or to just waste time in silence. Having that someone, is like having myself being listened and cared for all the time. And that person, has to be there in reach.

So I find it truly miraculous, that I am doing very fine at the moment having the fact that my boyfriend, lil’ sis and bestfriends are far away and out of reach. I no longer feel lost all the sudden not having anyone near me, that I just try to brood over other things that bring me value in a different way. From another persective, I see it as a given time to explore more about myself, and discover that life carries a greater weight when we focus more of our mind and energy on giving than that of receiving.

My life feels very complete now, and it wasn’t long ago that I felt the opposite. I have very well understood, that the people you love the most does not always have to please the eye. They don’t necessarily have to be around me, to touch or hold hands with me. They stay deep inside my heart, and they live happily within the stories of my life.

Thank you, my loved ones. Life has never felt easier :)

I actually took a picture of my big ole' bowl of to-be-jarred salsa. I really did. But, as I'm sitting here very comfortably, sipping a homemade limeade, the odds are increasingly slim that I'll actually stand up, walk to the dining room, take the camera out of its drawer (yes! we keep the camera in the dining room, no where near the computer - this could explain why I never have any pictures), walk back to my desk, connect it, turn it on and...see? It's just not happening. You can picture it, though, right? Big glass bowl? Filled with chopped veggies and looking (mostly) green? Good! That's exactly what it looks like.

I don't actually have a recipe for the salsa, just a list of ingredients with which I mess around until I get something I think tastes good. Even if the result is different from batch to batch I'm able to respond to nuances in the ingredients (some tomatillas are tangier than others, for example, and some onions sharper) and also contrive to use up bits of remainders hanging out in the fridge. It's an approach I like to take with many things, come to think of it.

This bowl has about four pounds of tomatillas (minced), half of a large yellow onion (chopped), half of a large red onion (chopped), a head of garlic (minced), salt and pepper, a chopped hot pepper, a fist full of cilantro (chopped) and a splash or two of cider vinegar. Good stuff.

Processing the salsa tonight (15 minutes in a boiling hot water bath) took care of one of my weekend projects. The other, my sister's birthday tote, is marked but as yet uncut and oh-so-far from completion. I've been in canning and knitting world lately but really need to get back to sewing for a while - too many things started but not completed and wanted before the summer is out (like, sundresses for the girl and a linen skirt for myself - can't imagine wanting them in, say, November which is when I'll get to it if I don't shape up). Then again, if I order the Darn Good Yarn I've been scoping, my return to the sewing machine might be delayed further.

Monday Off

This week has been utterly crazy...working from Monday to Friday, then some events on the Saturday and Sunday that were actually very special and nice but leaves me exhausted at the end....Dhanika's wedding (congrats, babe!), then the art workshop (thanks, committees!)...hhmm...I really really need a rest, so I chose to take a day off today, as I am not feeling very well myself...sorry for the lack of posts! :)
